UK union says Petrofac staff to strike at Repsol, BP
Dec 22 (Reuters) – Petrofac (PFC.L) staff engaged on Repsol (REP.MC) installations within the North Sea will participate in a 48-hour strike motion from Thursday, Britain’s Unite labour union stated.
Repsol platforms affected embody the Arbroath, Auk, Bleo Holm, Claymore, Clyde, Fulmar Alpha, Piper Bravo, Saltire, Tartan Alpha, and the Flotta oil terminal, Unite added.
“The dispute centres on the elimination of a ten% equal time cost, years of under inflationary pay will increase in addition to points round funds for Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) medicals, mileage and stand in duties,” the union stated in a press release.
In a separate dispute, Petrofac staff at BP (BP.L) will take strike motion from Dec. 29-31 at installations together with Andrew, Clair, Clair Ridge, ETAP, and Glen Lyon floating manufacturing, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility.
Clair Ridge can produce round 120,000 barrels per day (bpd) and the Glen Lyon FPSO vessel can course of as much as 130,000 bpd, in line with BP’s web site.
The Petrofac BP dispute entails 76 union members and centres on their work rotation, Unite stated in a press release.
The motion at Repsol installations follows staff rejecting the newest pay supply from Petrofac by 79%, on an 89% turnout.
An additional 48-hour strike will influence the Montrose platform from Dec. 29-31, Unite added.
